UPDATE #1 (4/21/19): We have raised $772 so far, surpassing our $427 goal! Thank you so much to those who donated! Letβs keep it up this week! :)
My team and I, the Well-Being with Matt Bowling team, has signed up for Deaf Community Servicesβs (DCS) 4th Annual Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser. π³
We have a goal of raising $427 by 4/27 (the date of the event, haha!). π
DCS is raising money support the DCS Big Brother and Big Sister program. The DCS Big Brother and Big Sister Program aims to provide deaf/hard of hearing (DHH) mentors for DHH children. Bigs and Littles meet one-to-one, at least 2 times a month, for at least 1 year. π¨βπ§π©βπ§
We believe these special relationships help DHH children develop self-confidence, learn social skills, become effective communicators, and most importantly, how to lead a life of well-being. Plus, we LOVE bowling, even if we bowl just once a year, haha! π€©π
The five members on our team β Natasha Reinig, Amy Michner, Michael Michner, and Michael Spady-Rojos β have a strong passion for contributing to the well-being of present and future generations of DHH children.
That is why our teamβs motto is:
βWe are not well until we all are well.β β WeRise Los Angeles
When we all focus on improving our well-being, it is passed down to the deaf children we are around. We are HEROES when we are WELL! ππ»
Not only can Bigs help their Littles navigate the hearing world, mentors can also inspire them to live a life of well-being. πͺπ»
That is why we are bowling and raising money for DCSβs Big Brother and Big Sister Program. But we canβt do it alone. We will love your help! π€
To donate, please visit the Well-Being with Matt Bowl-a-Thon team page to donate. Any amount is welcome! π
Together, weβre going to raise a ton of money for a great causeβ¦ To improve the well-being of our DHH children. π€π»
