Meditation has always been a challenge for me so joining Matt’s guided meditation sessions were an unexpected surprise. I have never felt comfortable doing any type of medication; mainly because I did not think I was doing it correctly or I fell asleep. But with Matt’s encouragement and welcoming nature, it was easy and so calming. In fact, I was an emotional wreck with the very first session!! I didn’t know I was harboring such non-truths inside of me and letting go of all of those negative feelings and emotions was a relief. That’s why I continue to join his guided sessions. I’ve learned that I don’t fall asleep, I am super calm afterwards and that there’s no special way of meditating. Did I mention that Matt does the guided mediation in ASL and that I don’t know ASL? Matt leads the session and I listen to an interpreter as he signs his instructions to the participants. It’s really amazing how focused I am as I am listening to the interpreter and watching him as the same time. So if you’re new to meditation or a seasoned veteran, you’ll enjoy mediating with Matt. I was having a very tough time processing an seriously stressful manipulative/abusive incident.  I really didn't have anyone I could talk to about it.  I had worked with Matt before and knew him to be a kind and intelligent man.  He told me he was just starting his business if I ever needed him.  He was there.  He listened, understood why it was so traumatic and offered a concrete way to move forward. Our new teacher training program wanted to make sure to include a segment on mindfulness, both for the well-being of the teachers, and to kick-start  bringing mindfulness into their classrooms.  Matt was so personable and approachable in brainstorming what that session would look like.  He bent over backwards, travelling long distances, to ensure that our teachers' (and then students' too!) If you are looking for a coach, you need to stop and check him out. I was looking for a mental health service...a deaf friendly is a must for me which was hard to find one. I had almost given up. Matt was amazing with our teachers in training at our School for the Deaf.  He tailored his curriculum that helps our teachers find their ways to meditate by staying mindfulness before, during and after the breaks.
